Enhancing Coordinated Entry with Employment

These are the slides for the "Enhancing Coordinated Entry with Employment" webinar held on Monday, March 20 at 1 pm CDT. The slides present the principles and purpose of integrating employment pathways into coordinated entry and highlight the innovative approaches taken by Chicago, Seattle, and Houston—three of National Initiatives' Connections Project sites—to do so. By integrating employment and income pathways into coordinated entry, we can ensure that people entering the homeless services system are quickly and seamlessly connected to the resources they need to exit homelessness for good.John Rio of Advocates for Human Potential, Heather Muller of CSH, Nancy Phillips of Heartland Alliance, and Danielle Winslow of All Home (King County) presented. Carl Wiley of National Initiatives/National Center on Employment and Homelessness moderated.

These slides framed the conversation about how CoCs can fund and operationalize employment programming by discussing the evidence and value of earned income for people experiencing homelessenss and highlighting evidence-based employment progrm models and best practices to help homeless josbeekers succeed in work. Presenters from Heartland Human Care Services, Building Changes, and the SNAP Office of Employment and Training sharedadditional information about how CoCs can incorporate employment programming into their work.
