These slides are from our 2016 national conference, A Nation That Works: What's It Going to Take? Roca, Inc., one of the most innovative programs in the country serving high-risk youth with employment services, has long applied therapeutic concepts such as change theory into its employment programming. Roca has found, over the years, that to effectively engage high risk populations, you must meet them where they are, based on their own individual level of readiness. Lili Elkins of Roca will introduce Roca's strategy for engaging young people who are not ready, willing or able to engage in traditional programming or work. This will include a review of Roca's new cognitive-behavioral curriculum that has been designed in the context of the organization's unique approach to serving the hardest-to-reach young people.
