While many noncustodial fathers want to be involved in their children's lives, unfortunately many live in poverty and lack the resources to financially provide for their children - a fact which may cause some fathers to withdraw further from involvement with their children. For many of these fathers, the lack of steady, sustainable income is a major barrier to fulfilling parental obligations.
